Julie Yang Receives Endorsement from Montgomery County Education Association in County Council Race

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
POTOMAC, MD – Julie Yang, candidate for Montgomery County Council (District 1), today announced she has received the endorsement of the Montgomery County Education Association (MCEA), representing more than 14,000 teachers, educators, and staff of Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS).
"I am deeply honored to receive the support of MCEA," said Yang. "This endorsement reflects our shared commitment to building a Montgomery County that works for everyone — especially our children, their families and their teachers."
Yang has lived the story of working families — arriving with two suitcases and building a life through hard work, public education, and community. As an educator, she has experienced firsthand what it takes to make schools, buses, and classrooms thrive.
"Montgomery County's best days are still ahead if we keep faith with the people who make it run," Yang continued. "I'm running to fight for fair pay, affordable housing, and schools that lift every child and respect every worker. Together, we can build a Montgomery County that works for the people who make it strong.”
This is Yang’s second labor union endorsement for her County Council race. Earlier this week, Yang also received the endorsement Service Employees International (SEIU) Local 500.
